There’s something truly magical about our events at Seneca Street Brew Pub, and last night’s meetup was no exception.

Despite dealing with a sore throat, the band Starting Off Red powered through and gave us an unforgettable live performance. Their energy and resilience set the tone for the evening — one filled with warmth, laughter, and connection across generations. From kids and twenty-somethings to folks in their 40s and beyond, the event was a true reflection of the beautiful diversity within our LGBTQ+ community.

We saw old friends reconnect, new friendships spark, and plenty of meaningful conversations happening in every corner. Whether over a pint of craft beer or while vibing to the music, the atmosphere was buzzing with joy and inclusion.

A special highlight of the evening was our conversation with FairNY about our upcoming role as Grand Marshal of the Pride Day Parade at the Great New York State Fair! We are beyond honored to represent the LGBTQ+ community at such an iconic event. Mark your calendars — we hope to see you there, cheering and celebrating with us!

And of course, we can’t say enough about Seneca Street Brew Pub. Owners Brooke and Heidi Menikheim have gone above and beyond to create not just a place for great beer, but a safe, welcoming space where all people—especially queer folx—can feel at home.

As always, we left feeling full—in heart and spirit. These gatherings don’t just give us a chance to relax and enjoy ourselves; they also open doors to meaningful connections and opportunities. We did a little networking too, and we’re so excited to share that we’ll soon be announcing a new kind of event—something particularly meaningful to the LGBTQ+ community. Stay tuned!

To everyone who came out last night: thank you. You make these events what they are. And to those who haven’t joined us yet—there’s always room at our table.

Until next time,
LGBTQ Syracuse
